When I Fall, I Shall Arise

Tonight I was reading this update of a friend of mine on facebook “Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time”. This New Year is a great time to start!

It made me think, just as it probably makes you think. There are choices we have to make and at the beginning of each year we like to make new resolutions in a  various areas of our lives.

Anybody can fall down, cry and quit. Anybody can fear and hide. If you’ve got God, you don’t have to do that. You can lift your head, set your face like a flint and keep the faith. You can speak to whatever problem is rearing its head at you, resist the devil and get victory.

As a son or a daughter of God, you can go to the throne of grace and get what you need. You can praise God even in the midst of a bad situation. Remember, God can liberate your mind and cause you to see that you will triumph.

Many time in sports you see people stumble; they could have given up or things could have slowed them down, but they don’t accept a defeat.  Nobody can keep you down unless you choose to decide not to rise again. The only one that keeps you down in life is you, because you and i have the power of God on our side.

Micah 7:8 says “Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again”. I like that! I shall arise! There is willpower involved in destiny. We have to choose to use our will, to exercise our will and direct it and focus it toward our destiny.

Those who choose to be “more than conquerors,” as the bible says, may suffer a loss, but they will not be defeated because “a loss” doesn’t equal “the end.” Tomorrow is around the corner! You may lose a battle, but you will win the war.

There are 3 facts to comfort when in trouble:

  1. The Lord is good. Nahum 1:7
  2. The Lord is a stronghold
  3. God knows them that trust Him

2011 is almost here and I have chosen that it will be a year of breakthrough for me and my family in many areas of your lives. It is a choice and than to keep yourself attached to that choice; let it not slip away. I endeavor to write about it a lot more next year; I hope you will come and get encouraged as we walk the journey together.

Remember, when we fall, we shall arise….we choose to be more than conquerors!
