It’s Time To Take a Stand!

“Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth”
Ephesian 6:11,13-14

YES, this is the hour and the time to stand, to stand your ground against the enemy like never before. The Bible has much to say about standing. We are exhorted to stand still, to stand fast, to stand fast in faith, to stand fast in the Lord; and, then after we’ve done all that, just stand!

What does it mean to stand? Webster’s dictionary definition defines stand as to take up or maintain a specific position. Not just a position, but a specific position. You might need to take a stand for the salvation of your family or for your healing. Maybe you need to stand your ground to be married or to see your children come home.

Another definition of stand is to maintain one’s position, or to hold a course. I like the idea of holding a course. When you hold your course during a storm, you refuse to allow the pressures and winds of the storm to turn your ship and take you off course. You refuse to allow the helm to be turned away from God. You stay the course of walking by faith rather than by sight. You hold a straight course bythe strength imparted through the Word of God.

You refuse to allow the pressure and the force of the storm to influence your conviction. You resist the force of fear, which is striving vehemently to make your heart fail under the pressure of the storm.

We have to guard our hearts and minds through the Word of God. We must also be careful what we expose ourselves to. Our spirit grows stronger or weaker by what we take in through our eyes and our ears. Control what you allow to dwell in your mind by guarding your thoughts. The devil may constantly try to bombard your mind with negative thoughts, but we have control over what we allow in our minds.

When the storms of life come blowing your way, and they will come, you must have your feet firmly planted so that you will still be standing after the storm has passed.

The only way that you can firmly stand your ground during the storms of life is to have your feet planted on the Word of God. Ephesians 6:14 calls it having your loins girt about with truth, and exhorts us having done all we can to stand, to continue standing.

The only way that you can endure the storms of life without being consumed by them is to become rooted and grounded in the Word of God before a storm hits. Have you ever seen somebody build a house during a storm? It’s impossible.

The same way, it is almost impossible to build our faith during a storm. It can be done, but it takes enormous strength. It is much easier to withstand the storms if our faith is built up and we are planted and deeply rooted before they come.

Will you choose to have your feet firmly planted so that you will still be standing after the storm has passed?  Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
