14 It’s Your Choice

It’s Your Choice

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death,
blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.
Deuteronomy 30:19

God wants us to know that life and death or blessing and cursing are our choice. You cannot go to heaven and tell God that you always thought that He loved others more than you, that He allowed destruction in your life while all your friends were blessed. That He never healed you, but healed everybody else. That is not going to happen!

The Bible says that God called upon Heaven and earth to record this very fact—He has set before you a choice, life or death. God not only gave you the choice, but He also gave you the answer. He made it very clear to you and me: choose life!

All our days are filled with making choices and every single time we have the chance to choose life (abundant life, blessings), or you can choose death (destruction, despair).

Temptation is one of those things; it can sneak up on you and wants you to make a choice. You have a choice to make or entertain the temptation or you can gratify the flesh. The best choice would be to go to the Word of God and deal with it accordingly.

When you choose to NOT follow Gods Word and do thing your way, the opposite way, you don’t manage your life very well! That is like lowering the drawbridge on a castle. What was once so protected is now vulnerable to the enemy. Over time, the enemy will continue to gain access through that opening, and you could stand to lose the whole fortress. You don’t want that to happen, do you?

There is a way to continually choose life. God tells us how in Proverbs 18:20-21:

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The only way we make the choice to choose life is to say something. You have to speak! You have to say something! In the midst of a temptation, you have to say, “I choose life.”
The best thing is to say something that the Word says. You release power as you do that! Plus, the very moment you say that, all of Heaven’s resources come rushing to your side to help you fulfill the choice you just made.

Just say what the Word says and nothing else and when you do that, there is power released. God has given you authority and power over everything bad that happens in your life. The devil can attack you, but when you take your place of authority, he loses.
When sickness tries to attach itself to your body, you choose whether or not you lay your health down. So, don’t lay down your health! Choose life!

Use your authority in the name of Jesus and speak! “Sickness, you can’t have my body. I choose not to lay it down, and the Bible says that if I choose not to, you can’t do a thing about it. You can’t override my choice. You don’t have any right!”

If the devil has been attacking you in your family, your finances, your children, your relationships, it can change today if you’ll choose life! It doesn’t matter how desperate your situation may seem to you; it can change today.
All it takes is a moment of repentance, “Father, forgive me—that was a mistake. I chose death and cursing. Wash me in the blood, and the next time that is presented to me, I will choose life and blessing.”

I call Heaven and earth to record today that God has placed before you life and death, blessing and cursing.

Will you choose life and blessing today? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

  1. In Mark 14 you will read about the meaning of communion. Communion can and should be a fresh dedication of our lives to the Lord, a reminder of the blood covenant that we have with God. Jesus has give us His best. Communion it the time to examine your life and ask for forgiveness in areas where it is needed.

  2. Amen Olga! I choose God’s best! 😀

    Hi Olga,

I get your tweets and I really appreciate the wisdom you share. This is my first time on your site and I am really enjoying it. May the Lord abundantly bless you as you go about your business sharing inspiration, wisdom, and faith in the Lord.

    Regards,
    Nyla

  4. Wonderful God inspired word! We always need to remind ourselves of the subtle tricks of the enemy and when we see them, choose life! Thank you for the encouragement!

  5. Realizing that our choices create our circumstances is the first step to recreating our circumstances by activating our power of choice! If only I had realized this as a child. Our children need to understand the power of choice!

  6. Yes, daily we need to choose life! Speak it, live it, choose it! thanks so much for the reminder!

  7. Olga, I love this devotion for today! It reminds me of watching Nick Vujicic, the man born with no arms and no legs, who has obviously chosen LIFE! He lives his life to the fullest, even more than most people. He’s a great example of choosing life through a tough situation and rising above. I play his videos sometimes for my daughter to raise her spirits, bring her insight into continuing her great attitude, and keeping her faith that God WANTS her healed!!!

  8. I think a lot of believers do not realize the authority they have or the power of the Name of Jesus! That was a good reminder that we need to use our authority and declare that we have chosen LIFE.
