116 You Can Do It!

You Can Do It!

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

This verse has been taken out of context to the extent that you may be unaware of its true meaning. It is not saying we can do anything we want to do. Nor does it mean we can do anything someone else does. It means that we are able to do whatever God assigns to us, because He has anointed us to do so.

I love the way the Message Bible expresses this verse: “Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Christ has made us who we are in order to carry out the plans He has made for us. In other words, as we discover the unique purpose for our lives, we can handle whatever life brings. We can do whatever we need to do through Christ.

We often fail to exercise our faith to believe and act on that truth. Instead, we think we are responsible for getting things done, forgetting that the power of Christ (the anointing) works through us. When we attempt to flow in our own strength, we are defeated before we even begin. The truth is that nothing is too difficult, if it’s part of God’s purpose.

Do you believe you can do whatever you need to do in life? Or are there certain things that trigger dread, fear, and cause you to say, “I could never do that!”? Are you facing a serious illness or perhaps the sudden death of a loved one? Do you need to work a second job in order to avoid financial ruin?

Or maybe, like a friend of mine, you need to go on a strict diet because your life depends on it?

Most of us have or have had some kind of circumstance that we think is likely impossible to manage. But while we may not welcome certain situations, Philippians 4:13 tells us that we can do it!! We can emerge victorious on the other side of the problem.

God guarantees us the strength for everything we need to do because He Himself empowers us. Let me give you a little secret here: we cannot do anything we want because we are strong enough, smart enough, or hard-working enough. That’s not it. In fact, there is no room at all for our human effort or striving of any kind. The secret to being able to do what we need to do is realizing that we cannot do it alone.

Will you choose to lean on Christ to empower you immeasurably beyond your natural strength? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make: Prayer for Salvation: God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Click Here if you need more information.
