Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:8 ESV

God wants you to enjoy your life right now. You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfectly straightened out in your family or business, or for all your problems to be solved. Happiness is a choice that you must make.

When you get up in the morning, you can choose to be happy and enjoy that day, or you can choose to be unhappy and go around with a sour attitude. It’s up to you. If you make the mistake of allowing your circumstances to dictate your happiness, then you risk missing out on God’s abundant life.

Maybe you are going through some rough waters right now or maybe you have some major obstacles in your path at this given moment. These may all be reasons to be unhappy or upset. But being unhappy won’t change a thing for the better. It actually inhibits God’s work in your behalf.

You can make a choice to be happy and enjoy your life. When you do that, you are placing your faith and belief above your circumstances. Not only will you feel better, but also your faith will cause God to show up and work miracles in your life. God knows that we go through real difficulties, challenges and struggles in our life. He knows all that.

He never intended for us to live without trials and temptations. In fact, we grow as a result of overcoming those. He wants us to live consistently in faith and belief. He wants us to enjoy every single day of our lives, and we cannot do that when we are fretting and worrying.

We can learn to live one day at a time, standing in faith and making the best of every moment. It’s good to have plans and goals, we should have them. But when that is the only thing we focus on, we get frustrated, fret and worry about the future, missing out on the joy God has for us that day.

Uncertainties increase our stress level and create a sense of insecurity. God has given us the grace to live today. He has not given us the grace for tomorrow yet. When we get to tomorrow, we’ll have the strength to make it through. God will provide what we need.
But if we’re worried about tomorrow right now, we are bound to be frustrated and discouraged. You must learn to live one day at a time. You can choose to start enjoying your life right now by an act of your faith.

Life is too short not to enjoy every single day. Learn to enjoy your family, your friends, your health, your work; enjoy everything in your life. Happiness is a decision you make, not an emotion you feel.

Certainly there are times in all our lives when bad things happen, or things don’t turn out as we had hoped. But that’s when we must make a choice that we’re going to live one day at a time and be happy in spite of our circumstances, believing that God will provide.
It’s extremely important that we know how to live a life of peace. If we’re going to do that, we need to be flexible and willing to make some adjustments. When things happen that normally bother us, we have to put down our foot to remember to live one day at a time and say: “

Will you choose to be happy each day? That is God’s will in your life. Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Yes, living a day at a time is a great concept…why oh why do we always try to live in the future or even live in the past? It doesn’t bring us anything, but somehow we keep doing that. Like you say God has given us the grace to live today; it is a daily thing. His grace is there for us every day anew. Plus life is too short not to enjoy every single day; it really is. Thanks Olga
