50 Do You Think You Are Too Old?

Do You Think You Are Too Old?

Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever,
for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

Genesis 6:3 ESV

In the book of Joshua we read that when it was time to go into the promised land, Joshua and Caleb were very old men.

Can you picture it? Caleb walking along with his buddy Joshua, both sizing up the mountains before them and debating which mountain each would take. Joshua asks Caleb if he is ready to take the mountain, and as they are talking they are reminding one another that God is with them, and that with Him they can conquer any mountain. Caleb is the first to say: “I am well able to overcome it.”

You are never too old to conquer life’s mountains. God is always faithful, and He desires to shower blessings on those who consistently follow Jesus. He blesses all ages from young to old, and those in-between.

Some people reach a certain age and think they are old. Others become old and set in their ways while still young. Age really doesn’t matter. It truly doesn’t. God gives us all capacities and capabilities that do not have to diminish with age.

God has given each and every one of us such great potential. If only we would realize of what we are capable, we would strive to do so much better in life. Have you ever met a vibrant servant of the Lord, who preached the gospel with power, having signs and wonders follow? They are fit, and healthy and have amazing energy. To top it all off, you discover that this energetic person is much, much older than you.

If you were to ask them how they sustain themselves, they would answer that it is by consistently spending time in the presence of the Lord. They love God and they know God, who gives them power and strength, loves them. That is how Joshua and Caleb were able to take mountains.

It really doesn’t matter how old you are or how big your mountain is. There is only one thing that you need to do and that is to enter into the rest of God and you will find the victory.

The mountain may seem impossible but we all can say: “I’m well able to overcome the mountain. I’m well able to get over the top of the mountain. I’m well able to speak to the mountain and tell it to move in Jesus’ name.”

Will you choose to believe to not care how big your mountain is, because God is bigger? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
