43 Set Your Destiny In Motion

Set Your Destiny In Motion

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 ESV

The Christian walk is an unending journey of spiritual growth. Progression to ever-higher levels of spiritual maturity requires decisive action, determination and discipline, as well as diligence.

Spiritual growth can be painful and sometimes tedious. Why bother? First, God’s Word exhorts us to become mature Christians. Second, as true believers, our hearts’ desire is to be useful for God’s purposes on the earth, and to bring pleasure to the Father.

A big part of coming into our maturity in Christ comes from knowing how God wants to use us, and being prepared and available for His purposes.

God has a life purpose tailor-made for you. You are His go-to person for specific jobs He needs done on the earth! Sometimes our day-to-day lives can keep our focus earthbound. But that’s a limited perspective.

Colossians 3:1-2 encourages us this way: “If you then are raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (NKJV). That is the correct perspective.

We have been raised with Christ and are seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Paul instructs us to seek the things above. The Phillips translation of Colossians 3:1 states it this way: “If you are then risen with Christ, reach out for the highest gifts of Heaven, where Christ reigns in power.”

Look up! View your life’s purpose from your seat in the heavenly places. You’ll see an array of possibilities that are not visible from ground level.

Reach for the highest gifts heaven has to offer. They are within your grasp!

Set the standard high! Seek 100 percent success. That way, even if you were to attain only half of what you’re reaching for, you are still farther along than the person who sets his sight on 25 percent and reaches it.

We must set our sights as high as we can, then allow God to show us how to attain the goals and aspirations He has placed in our hearts.
We can see the Apostle Paul reaching for the high calling of God for his life: “Brethren, I do not imagine that I have yet laid hold of it.

But this one thing I do—forgetting everything which is past and stretching forward to what lies in front of me, with my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God’s heavenward call in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14 Weymouth).

To continue toward and achieve this high calling we need to forget our past failures. We must set aside the things Satan uses against us to make us feel guilty and condemned. Our failures of the past do not make us a failure today.

Will you be determined to MAKE A CHOICE to fix your eyes on the prize that  sets your destiny in motion? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
