He Will Lead You To Full Restoration

He Will Lead You To Full Restoration

The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:1-6

…He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.

Lead means to go with one by holding them while moving forward. Restoration means to fix something that has been broken; to revive something that was near death.

From my experiences over the years, I now recognize that whenever there is a lot of drama in my life, I’m in need of God’s leadership and restoration. What do I mean by drama? Well, drama is the ongoing accumulation of vivid, emotional, and conflict-laden, situations and relationships in your life.

When I followed what looked good, felt good, and sounded good, I brought unnecessary drama into my life. On the other hand, when I listened to the Shepherd instead of my flesh, I experienced still waters and green pastures.

Are you in the middle of big time drama? Do your emotions roller-coaster from high to low or is there conflict around every corner. This is not where the Good Shepherd is leading you.

Spend time before the Lord, allow Him to lead you and restore you and the drama will diminish. Your circumstances may not even change, but God’s direction will bring you renewed peace. Anytime you follow the Word and the leading of the Holy Ghost, you will prosper in every area of your life; that is a guarantee!

I Peter 5:6 says, “Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time.” God has a due time for you. Now, how you arrive in your season is by allowing Him to lead you. You see, your due time is coming. There is a season for restoration, for healing and for big time victory in your life. God is setting it up. But He has to get you in the right place, at the right time, and in the right situation. You may wonder why an awesome God would care to lead you.

…He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Now why is it for His name’s sake? Because God must act in accordance with who He is. God’s conduct toward you, His representative in the earth, reflects His righteousness and innate goodness. When people see the blessing of the Shepherd on your life, they will be attracted to Him.

Why be a lost sheep who is broke, sick, full of complaints and a “woe is me attitude”? That doesn’t attract anyone. People have enough drama in their lives without getting involved in yours.

Allow the Shepherd to lead you to still waters, restore your soul and direct you in the paths of righteousness by making that quality choice to follow Him as a sheep follows its shepherd.

Will you choose to allow the Shepherd to lead you to still waters, restore your soul and direct you in the paths of righteousness by making that quality choice to follow Him as a sheep follows its shepherd? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

  1. God’s leadership in my life is good for me but as you state here, it isn’t about me. It is all about Him!

  2. I love Psalm 23 and believe it’s one of the most remarkable pictu.res of God I’ve ever witnessed! As I read this article I think of one particular woman, a friend of mine. She worships God and praises Him several hours a day. She’s a musician and an extraordinary writer, as well. I’ve read her psalms which comes straight from her true heart… her very beautiful heart.

But she suffers from cancer… not just one, but at least two separate beasts reside in her body. The doctors do not give her much hope. She is a young mother. Her husband is a sociopath who persecutes her mercilessly every day. She has been living with her father, for safety reasons. Her life is a living hell.

But in the midst of this hell (she despises drama and does not complain or dwell on her troubles) she praises God with the sweetest of voices and truest of hearts.

I believe God will vindicate this young mother… but she has a hard time when Christians tell her what she’s doing wrong… pointing out her failures, indicating that her position in suffering is somehow her fault.

I think of Job… and how it was not his error that produced evil circumstances in his family. I wonder if my friends’ voice and heart would be so sweet, such a sweet aroma going up to heaven, if it weren’t for the deep well of compassion and passion that is being dug in her war-torn spirit?

I know there have been times in my life when I’ve missed God’s best by making poor choices and have suffered the consequences. But there have also been many times when I have heard God clearly and He has led me directly behind enemy lines into darkness. He hasn’t left me there, but I know it was God leading me into it.

I think of Father God and how He led His beloved sinless Son directly in the path of persecution and torment. And Jesus learned obedience through His suffering.

I’m one who ponders a lot… I don’t know all the answers yet! There sure is a lot to think about in this article! Thanks, Olga!!!

  3. Did you just take a glimpse into my life before you wrote this? lol This is PERFECT for me right now… literally, this very minute! I guess there is a reason I am reading this article this time of night, right when I need it most. Thanks for your wonderful words of encouragement, as usual!
