Your Deliverance is HERE!
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17 ESV
As we will read in the book of Exodus, we will read a story of deliverance, a story of people who broke free from oppression because they cried out to God and God heard their cry. They broke free from tyranny and cruelty and began a journey to the land flowing with milk and honey; the good land that God had promised them and so can you!
The book of Exodus is one amazing scene after another. Burning bushes, dividing seas, manna falling, quail scampering; the plagues, the slaves, the pharaoh, the fire and so much more.
Exodus teaches us how God brings us out of situations that keep us in bondage in order to take us into something better.
God told the Israelites to dip a brush into a bowl of lamb’s blood and streak it over the doorpost. “Do it”, they were told, “and the angel of death will pass over”. They did just that and the angel of death passed over their house. That is the highlight of Exodus.
Just as God prepared Moses to deliver Israel, He sent Jesus to be our deliverer. Jesus is our salvation. Salvation is God doing for us what we can’t do for ourselves. Salvation is the biggest word in the vocabulary of the people of God.
In the book of Exodus we read a powerful and dramatic and true story of God working salvation. It is significant that God shows us what salvation means to us by a story. The whole book draws us into a story with a plot and characters.
This is a story that God uses to draw whoever is in trouble out of the mess they’re in, into the kingdom of salvation. We can read about an obscure and severely brutalized people who are saved from slavery into a life of freedom.
As you read Exodus, think about the ways God is leading you out of an area of bondage or oppression in your life right now and determine that you will follow Him faithfully.
Will you allow God to teach you how to trust Him and how to follow Him as He leads you into the land of milk and honey, where the blessing flows freely? Now, that’s the choice-driven life!

The story of Joseph has always amazed me; such a great character and such an awesome assignment fulfilled. He certainly was a man of high integrity. Joseph still is an awesome example! Thanks!
Ex 2:23-25 God remembers, and God hears. We can have confidence that the Lord does not forget His promises to us. He is faithful, in His time – He will ‘acknowledge’ us. You can be assured that God has “deep concern for [your] welfare” Exodus 2:25, He hears your prayers, He remembers (and will always keep) His promises, and He’s got a plan to see you through whatever you’re walking through. So today you can say to Him “I trust you.”
I think that far too often we have that mentality when it comes to the fruit of the Spirit; as if we can choose our favourites among “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”(Galatians 5:22). The fact is, however, that it is the fruit of the Spirit not the fruits of the Spirit. There is one Spirit and the characteristics that are listed above are aspects of the fruit that He produces in us. That means that we shouldn’t be satisfied if there is love in our life but no self-control or if there is goodness but no patience. As we mature in the Holy Spirit, we can anticipate growth in our love, our joy, our peace, our patience, our kindness, our goodness, our faithfulness, our gentleness and our self-control. Thank you Olga for pointing this out! ie regarding the characteristics of the fruit (singular) of the Spirit. I guess I never really thought more deeply about this. I think a lot of us may think we have to somehow “work” at this ourselves…or that we somehow automatically have it all when we are born again…when in reality our Lord, through sanctification (maturity), is working these characteristics into our lives through our spirits (hearts) which then will manifest through our souls (mind, will, emotions, ie our actions) Thank the Lord for His grace (His empowerment) for continued growth! 😀
My deliverance is free. God has brought me out of many situations; too many to count. Too bad that sometimes I talk myself into the same situation by speaking the same bad situations into existence again! I start realizing this more and more and want to change this more and more as well! Thanks for informing us about all of this Olga!!
Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil…Deliverance is a daily process. I find myself constantly in need of deliverance of something whether great or small. In a moment or a twinkling of the eye, I encounter moments in life that require readjustments and choices are made based on the inner directives of the wonderful counselor. I am finding that surrendering quickly to the Holy Spirit’s guidance keeps me in peace in the midst of the circumstances. Life is a accumulations of events that only connect when God is allowed to control. To trust God without reservations allows full deliverance to be manifested. Deliverance within is manifested without in a clearer perception of reality. Reality is God controlled. Trusting God to do the piloting of ones life brings stability to what would otherwise be illusive and unobtainable. True deliverance is eternal and not hindered by the temporary. True deliverance has its source in the Almighty and nothing can destroy its divine purpose. Shalom is our Exodus!
