Your Destiny is Calling You

However, as it is written: What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no mind has conceived
– the things God has prepared for those who love him.
I Corinthians 2:9 (Isaiah 64:4)

God has prepared things for those who love Him, that are beyond our ability to comprehend. That sounds like destiny to me. I remember as a little girl, I lived life just as it came to me – one day at a time. I dreamed of big things. I desired to create awesome things and they were all so real to me. As a child I had no idea what the future would hold. I only knew life as it was and the way I dreamed it would be.

But then things started to happen, not all for the good. So, I had to grow up and become mature, dealing with my life as it unfolded. My parents died when I was way too young, my two sisters became very ill and there I was, not knowing where to go or what to do. But God had a plan for my life. He knew that I would come to love Him and serve Him.

I married the love of my life and we were blessed with two beautiful children. So God gave me the family that I had longed for. Our family is quite close. We all have a heart for God and want to serve Him with passion and purpose. What about you? Isn’t that what you want? Of course it is.

Your destiny is calling for you. Can you hear it? Sometimes people draw back from what they thought God was calling them to do, because things haven’t worked out as they hoped. They responded quickly and enthusiastically to what they thought the Lord was drawing them to do and ran straight into a wall.

If that’s ever happened to you, don’t dwell on it. You’re in excellent company. Some of the greatest faith heroes of the Bible didn’t at first respond to God’s call exactly as He wanted.

Do you remember Moses? He was called to be a prophet and to serve as a deliverer for Israel. He sensed that call in his heart and wanted to get after it with everything in him and ended up murdering an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew slave. That was, of course, not something God had in mind. Moses had to be corrected way out in the middle of nowhere – in the back of the wilderness. God prepared him and Moses fulfilled his destiny after all. Moses wasn’t the only one. Consider Samuel. He heard the voice of the Lord, but thought he was hearing the voice of his mentor, Eli. God continued to call out to Samuel and he matured so fully in God that everything he said came to pass.

And you? Will you press toward the goal to which God has been calling you from before the foundation of this earth (Ephesians 1:4)? Will you do it? Allow God to unfold His beautiful picture of your destiny on the inside of you. And the only way you will do that is to run fully after God!

Will you choose to respond to God’s destiny for life? Now that’s the choice-driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make: Prayer for Salvation: God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior.
From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Click Here if you need more information.

  1. Thank you for writing this excellent post Olga, this is so true, so many people set out to do great things for God and yet things don’t go quite as what they expected. Can I encourage anyone out there to press in for the great things that God has for them, be careful who you listen to, as so many so-called “mature Christians” will try and stop the great plans God has for them! Keep yourself firmly in the word of God and get around people who have a passion for the things of God and push towards your God-given purpose.
