God Is Your Solution, Not Your Problem

Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay;
you are the potter; we are the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8

There is an expression, “That’s the tail wagging the dog,” meaning the lesser part of a thing trying to control the greater. We are created beings and our Creator is God. We are the clay and He is the Potter. We are the sheep and He is the Shepherd. We cannot direct God to carry out our plans. We must choose to respond to God’s way rather than trying to manipulate Him to carry out our plans. God has the solution, not us!

In His Word and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God instructs us how to avoid problems. “If you do this, I’ll bless you. If you don’t do it, you open yourself up to the strategies of the enemy” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2,15). So, whose fault is it if we choose to do the wrong things and reap the trouble we were warned about? Ours. We made the choices.

When we become stuck in a hard place, it may be difficult to perceive where the real problem lies. It is difficult for us to see, that we ourselves may have opened the door to our troubles. It is our tendency to think, “God missed it here.” In thinking this way, we deceive ourselves.

We may also look back at the Old Testament and think, “Adam, how could you have been so foolish as to not obey God?” Or, “Israel, why did you keep refusing to listen to the prophets that were sent?”

But we can be equally foolish. We forfeit the will of God through disobedience, and then when things don’t work for us and we struggle and ask, “Lord, why did you let this happen to me? How come You’re not doing something to get me out of this?”

At other times you may have thought, “I’m doing everything I can. I have even kept my confession right. I don’t know why this isn’t working for me. Why isn’t God doing something for me?” There’s an answer to these questions and it will save you a lot of heartache and murmuring.

God is never at fault, and He is never your problem. He is always the solution. You must get that truth down in your heart before the hard times come. If you will make up your mind about God’s goodness, the next time pressure hits and Satan tries to get you to question God, you will refuse to bow your knee. You won’t budge, because you know beyond a shadow of doubt that God is never wrong.

Say: “Lord, I don’t understand what is going on here. But I know that You haven’t missed it, because You are faithful. I believe I receive Your wisdom in this situation. Now, I am asking You, Lord, to show me what I need to do to establish victory.”

God is never off the mark. He’s never wrong. He’s never late. He is always righteous and just. We should walk in such reverence of Him that our minds are closed to any thought that would diminish Him.

If you have blamed God for your circumstances, choose to be tender-hearted and quick to repent. It’s a choice! Don’t let anything come between you and God.

Will you choose to trust God in all His ways? Now, that’s the choice driven life!

The Most Important Choice You Can Make: Prayer for Salvation: God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Click Here if you need more information.

  1. I do agree with with the idea that we move away from the will of God when we disobey Him. That doesn’t mean that we’ve moved out of his will for good. God is redemptive, grace filled and is building HIS kingdom. His will, WILL be done.
Again though, that doesn’t mean that we can just do whatever we want and bank on the grace/mercy of God to bail us out (see Romans 6).

  2. Hmmmm…. today i was pondering that our problems and solutions are actually 2-sides of the same coin!

I was reading Matthew 4… and how God LED His own son into the desert to be tempted by the devil. And prior to that, He LED Joseph and Mary into a place where they would be disgraced (the virgin birth that no one believed, at the time).

Sometimes it seems like God gives a GIFT of a problem so that He can gift us with a SOLUTION!

Anyway… it’s something I’ve been pondering today… that sometimes our problems are gifts from God, only because He’s so sure of Himself in providing a solution, or a provision, for the problem.

One thing, though, he never does anything to intentionally hurt us, at least not in a mean way. He did lead Jesus to the Cross… and Jesus said we’d have our own crosses to bear… but then He raised Jesus from the dead and gave Him resurrection power. Then Jesus gave us the very same authority… so it’s like there’s no problem that could ever be too big, that the provision is not greater still.

    I’m still pondering this….

I’m so glad your article triggered me to ponder some more… I certainly agree that God is not the problem and He’s never too late….
