What Are You Believing For?
“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask,
believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
Mark 11:24 NASB
Your life can be enjoyable. You and I are going to do things here on earth that we will remember and enjoy talking about for all eternity in heaven.
Your life isn’t fated to be boring, short-lived or poverty stricken. It can be long-lived and prosperous! You can fulfill God’s plan for your life when you are a doer of the word.
God created us to find enjoyment in what we are called to do. It’s fulfilling to recognize the significance of our own life, whether we’ve been called to do something simple or complex. Each of us has our place in this world. God has specially equipped you to fulfill your place!
God is for you. He is never against you. God is not looking for ways to condemn you, hurt you or make your path in life difficult. That’s what the devil does. That’s what a sin-sick earth brings. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). The life that we have been given is a real gift. It’s not been given for us to endure, but to enjoy.
God loves you. He wants to bless you, to give you not only a fulfilling life, but also the desires of your heart. When you put your faith in Him, you can expect that He will prove Himself to you as a faithful Father, a surprising Father – a Father who loved you so much that He sent Jesus.
Why did Jesus come? So, that we might live! Jesus came to be our mediator with God and to restore us to our rightful place. Jesus made it possible for us to live a good and truthful life on this earth and for heaven to be our eternal home. We are passing through this life. It’s not the only life we will live. Heaven is waiting for us! According to James 4:14,our life is like a vapour. But that doesn’t mean that it is unimportant.
Jesus died for our sins, to redeem us from all sin. The Bible says you’ve been made FREE from the law of sin and death through the work of the cross. Jesus has washed you clean and God counts you righteous, which means that you can go through life without guilt, without shame and without limitation on your divine destiny. You are free. Don’t let the devil, your thoughts or anyone else steal your freedom. God wants you to renew your mind and build a mental map of the road to your good destiny.
Will you choose to believe God for your awesome destiny? Now, that’s the choice driven life!

I love that first sentence, especially…. how we will spend all of eternity sharing our stories, reliving the BEST moments of our lives together!
Sometimes I struggle with the message about prosperity, though… because I think of Christians today who are behind bars, persecuted for their faith… or believers who are in countries that are repressive… or children growing up with starvation…. or women who have so little control over their lives, such as in certain Muslim countries, or even here, in certain Christian sects…
I know true wealth is not about quantity of money or resources… but some believers are truly faced with limited means to fulfill their hopes and dreams, not due to their own fault or poor choices… but due to a sin-sick world, like you mentioned in your article.
I think of countless women who the desire of their heart is to have a baby, but they remain childless. And I wonder about things like that…
I think of a friend of mine going through her first day of chemo today… and I know the desire of her heart is to be whole and that every cell in her body be full of health… but over and over again this cancer, which seems to be genetically controlled, returns to invade her body.
So I think I’m sitting on this fence… looking at situations like this around me, and I see these women making good choices, faith-filled decisions, pouring their hearts out to God… and still they experience lack. Is there something they are doing wrong, I wonder….
So I keep pondering… and I think that maybe we think too much of ourselves as individuals, about our individual choices… and I wonder if we all thought of ourselves as connected, as part of the Body of Christ, then there would truly be no lack, for we would always be taking care of each other’s needs. I think of the children of Israel who experienced no lack, even in the wilderness, because those who could collect much manna collected more and shared more…and those who could collect only a little, still had enough, because of the sharing principle.
These days I just ponder a lot about these things… and I’m open to learning!!!!
Wonderful reminder that God does have a plan and a destiny for our lives. Watching a granddaughter with special needs, and not being able to “fix it” for her has brought home the fact that only God knows what His plan is for our lives. He will use all things for His glory….the good and the bad. Trust is the key issue in every circumstance.
